Located
at the physical and cultural crossroads of Tulum, Mexico, El Crucero
is an integrated hotel, garden, restaurant and recreation facility
located just a stone's throw from the magnificent Mayan ruins
of Tulum. We see El Crucero as a destination for international
and Mexican travelers, day tourists from the surrounding hotels,
and local residents, and all our friends and neighbors from around
the world.
For
all our guest we offer
- clean,
affordable, secure accommodations
- authentic,
affordable food from Mexico and around the world
- international
standards of service
- good
music and a place to dance
- local live music and cultural events
- a
great environment to spend a day or a week
- reliable
information, advice and services
Our
motivations for this project are neither the personal financial
gains (which we do expect), the weather (which we enjoy), nor
the ripeness and cheapness of the avocados (which are considerable).
The location on Mexico's Yucatan
Peninsula, (easily accessible from both Europe and the Americas),
makes it a natural crossroads for people of all nations, and therefore
an ideal center for this type of network.
We
designed our logo to acknowledge our location at the intersection
of two roads. In addition, we want to emphasize the garden. The
logo references the traditional design of the north african garden
which is a place for contemplation and spiritual growth. In his
studies of the moorish gardens, the Mexican architect, Louis Barragan
commented on the carefully designed central open spaces, "The
garden should contain only one thing, and that is everything."
El Crucero strives to create that same open space in both the
physical and metaphorical sense: we offer you an open, free place
for you to create your greatest experience, memories and good
times.
